There are few places on our planet as spectacular as the Himalaya, where you can encounter everything from desert to glacier, geckos to snow toads, Sufi mystics to Buddhist monks and bamboo huts to impregnable fortresses. And only a bicycle (or maybe a yak) lets you cover huge distances while staying open to the landscape and people.
This website is about the guidebook Himalaya by Bike (Trailblazer Publications, 2008) which was written over three years of cycling across the entire Himalayas from Rawalpindi in Pakistan to Samdrup Jongkhar in eastern Bhutan.
I hope it will inspire you to dream about biking in the Himalaya and, as the Indian road signs say, ‘if you can dream it, you can do it!’.
